Michelle Williams is the Managing Director and Senior DEI Consultant at Evolve Shift Counselling and DEI Consulting, where she combines her expertise in psychotherapy and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As Managing Director of Evolve+Shift, she leverages over six years of experience in DEI education and consulting, having worked with organizations across Canada and internationally to promote equity and inclusion.
With a BA in Psychology from York University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Waterloo, Michelle is a registered social worker (RSW) specializing in grief, individuals and relationships. As one of Canada’s few BIPOC grief specialists, Michelle supports those affected by colonization, intergenerational trauma, and loss rooted in marginalization. Her practice is particularly inclusive of BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
In addition to her work in counselling and DEI consulting, Michelle has a keen interest in the social and cultural implications of menopause, offering support and validation to those navigating this life stage.
Michelle’s work has been featured on CTV’s The Social and the Huffington Post. She is actively involved in writing and speaking on issues of grief, loss, and social justice. Michelle’s debut book, focusing on grief and loss within BIPOC and marginalized communities, is set to be published in 2025.
